At the helm of IUM is the IUM Council to which IUM management is accountable. The board is constituted by tried and tested cadres, men and women who have made a difference in their various capacities in Namibia.

Chancellor

Dr. Bishop K. Dumeni


Dr. Bishop K. Dumeni is the Chancellor of the International University of Management. Dr Dumeni is a renown church leader, academic and author of several literatures. He has vast experience in leadership and has travelled to several African and overseas countries.

Senior advisor


Professor Monish Gunawardana


Professor Monish Gunawardana is the senior advisor to the governing council. Prior to his appointment as the council advisor, he was the Pro-Vice Chancellor responsible for Academic Affairs & Research. He is an accomplished socio-economic development expert, bearing 26 years experience in project management on a senior level, HIV and AIDS, regional planning, rural water supply and sanitation. Professor Monish is a product of the University of Sri Lanka.As a development expert , he has served the UNDP, UNTAC, UNOCA, UNICEF, WFP, World Bank, GTZ and DANIDA in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Sri Lanka and Namibia.He was nominated as a governing council member to the Namibia National Planning Commission's Vision 2030 Program. His current research interests are Development economics, AIDS and Nuclear Energy.

Vice Chancellor:

Mrs V. Namwandi


Mrs Namwandi is the Vice Chancellor of IUM with effect from 23 March 2010. She assumed this position after the departure of Dr Namwandi to Ministry of Education. Mrs Namwandi has been the Registrar of IUM since inception in 1994. Prior to joining IUM she was the Registrar at the Institute of Higher Education, the fore-runner of IUM. She is a product of the University of Nairobi, Kenya and holds various professional and academic qualifications. The University will benefit from her vast experience in management and administration.

Deputy Vice Chancellor :

Professor Earle Taylor


Professor Taylor Is the Deputy-Vice Chancellor. Professor Taylor is an accomplished think-tank and leader who has held several advisory portfolios to various governments in Africa and in the world. He is a Harvard University product.

Pro-Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs & Research :

Professor Fred Opali


Professor Fred Opali is the Pro-Vice-Chancellor : Academic Affairs & Research. He is a distinguished academic with vast experience in the world of Higher Education and has held academic, management, and administrative positions at Makerere University, his alma mater, the University of Botswana, and the Polytechnic of Namibia. He publishes largely in English and African Literature.

Pro-Vice Chancellor Administration and Management :

Mr. Usko Shivute

Mr. Usko Shivute is the Pro- Vice Chancellor of Administration and Management. Mr. Shivute is a product of the University of Minnesota, USA. Prior to his current position at IUM, Mr. Shivute was SADC Deputy Ambassador, Washington DC, USA.

IUM "Passes the Test” as It Gets Officially Registered by NCHE

The IUM has earned this registration after fulfilling all the legal requirements for the registration of private university in particular and higher education institution in general. Registration certificates were awarded to each of IUM’s five campuses.

The speakers and activities scheduled for the three-day orientation focused on the issues and resources that are most important to new students such as library and e-services, student accommodation, student records and other facilities on camps. This was a great way to find out how they could become involved on campus.
