A new chapter in academic and institutional collaboration has been written today, 03 April 2025, as The International University of Management (IUM) and the Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) officially signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), setting the stage for a transformative exchange of expert knowledge in smart revenue management and economic intelligence. Through this collaboration, academia and governance are joining forces to build a smarter, more efficient revenue system—one that is future-proof and driven by innovation.
The Commissioner for NamRA, Mr. Sam Shivute, emphasised that the MoU should not only benefit IUM and NamRA but also serve Namibia as a whole. He highlighted the need for tangible products and services that address critical areas of the economy.
In agreement, the IUM Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mwandemele, affirmed that IUM possesses the technical capacity to perform data mining on critical financial data, enabling the extraction of deep, insightful findings that can ultimately inform revenue-related policies.
Later this year, IUM will inaugurate a High-Tech Research Center in Swakopmund, further bolstering its position as a leading institution in research and development.
To drive this grand collaboration forward, key focal persons will be appointed to ensure swift implementation, leaving no room for stagnation.
