IUM Entrepreneurship Day 2024

On 15 August 2024, IUM Entrepreneurship Day 2024 erupted in a blaze of success at the Dorado Main Campus, driven by the visionary leadership of Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Udjombala.

Under the inspiring theme, “Nurturing Culture and Diversity through Entrepreneurship” the event buzzed with dynamic entrepreneurial energy and innovation. It was a vibrant celebration of entrepreneurship, showcasing IUM’s unwavering commitment to embedding entrepreneurial excellence into its core educational framework. IUM is not merely shaping the future but stands as a powerhouse in cultivating the next generation of commerce leaders and trade experts. The day featured essential elements such as SME coaching and mentoring, training on tax filing, networking, and the showcasing of traditional cuisines, complemented by energetic song and dance performances.

Hosted by the Faculty of Strategic Management and Business Administration (SMBA), in collaboration with the Student & Customer Liaison Office, Alumni Office, and the SRC Office, the event also highlighted competition and camaraderie. A major highlight was the awarding of the Best Stall, a hard-fought battle among entrepreneurship students from SMBA and Business Studies students from the Tutorial Centre. The Congo Stall triumphantly claimed the prestigious first prize, standing out for its creativity and innovation. The prize allocations were as follows:

            1st Prize: Congo

            2nd Prize: Nigeria

            3rd Prize: France

Additionally, the Best Corporate Stall award went to Exclusive Books, who received a trophy for their outstanding contribution.

The event’s success was magnified by the generous support of corporate giants such as SANLAM, Development Bank of Namibia (DBN), Namibia Revenue Agency (NAMRA), and NamPost Financial Brokers. IUM extends its deepest gratitude to these partners for their relentless dedication to advancing both IUM and Namibia. Their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives transcend mere contributions; they are pivotal forces driving profound transformation and reshaping Namibian society for the better.
