Qualification Description:

Namibia is a fast growing technologically-based economy. The growth requires certain skills and competences in information technology. The Bachelor of Science in Business Information Systems Honours degree is designed in response to the information technology challenges facing Namibia and the Region. Upon completion of this degree, graduates would have acquired knowledge of computer systems and management and will be able to analyse, design and implement information systems solutions in a wide range of real-world problems. Also graduates will be able to recognize the multidisciplinary nature of information systems, be familiar with information system architecture and be able to evaluate information system effectiveness in a business enterprise.

This degree is designed to make a positive and practical contribution to hardware and software design and to improve the management of performance and problem solving. It is concerned with the education and training of young information systems managers who can help to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of management in the private and public sectors. Upon completion, graduates would have acquired knowledge of computer systems and management that will enable them to analyse, design and implement information systems solutions in a wide range of real-world problems. Additionally, graduates will be able to recognize the multidisciplinary nature of information systems, be familiar with information system architecture and be able to evaluate effectiveness of information system in businesses.

Admission /Entry Requirements:

• To be registered for this qualification, candidates must at least have a Bachelor degree in Business Information Systems Level 7 or equivalent.
