IUM and China University of Geosciences signed a Cooperation Agreement
The International University of Management (IUM) and the China University of Geosciences signed a cooperation agreement on Monday, 29 April 2024, forging a collaborative linkage between the two institutions.
The signing of the cooperation agreement held at the IUM Main Campus, Dorado Park between the two institutions represented by Prof. Youhong Sun, President of China University of Geosciences, and Prof. Osmund Mwandemele, IUM Vice-chancellor, will benefit the two institutions in several areas of interest including but not limited to Water Resources Management, Renewable Energy, Green Hydrogen Technology, Logistics and Transportation, as well as Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and others.
Officiating at the signing ceremony, The IUM Founder and Council Chair Hon. Prof David Richard Namwandi mentioned that IUM will not only be offering the Chinese language to its staff and students, but to whoever is interested in learning the language. This is a great opportunity especially for those who would like to explore opportunities in China, be it for education, business initiatives or having some knowledge of Chinese to ease communication barriers between the two countries.
“We know that CUGB is one of the top universities in China. We are happy to establish this partnership between CUGB and IUM because we see that it will open opportunities for staff and student’s exchanges, while also embracing some possibilities for joint academic Programmes as well as Research, Development and Innovation in areas which will benefit Namibia in terms of human resources capacity building”, said Hon. Prof. Namwandi.
