The International University of Management (IUM) on Wednesday, 27 March 2024, signed a memorandum of understating (MOU) with the Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMap) to establish a long-term cooperation between the two institution which share a common vision and aspiration with the aim to foster academic excellence and innovation.
During the signing ceremony, which was held virtually, UniMap Vice Chancellor Prof. Datuk Dr. Zaliman Sauli said that the MOU will enable implementation of various collaborations, including student mobility and publishing, innovation and incubation covering the fields of communication and information technology, social entrepreneurship, accounting and finance, human resource management, economics, marketing, business management act.
IUM Vice-chancellor Professor Osmund Mwandemele said the partnership will be able to establish opportunities for staff and student exchange, joint degrees where feasible internships and joint research opportunities which will help to enhance educational experience, innovation and technology transfer that would benefit both countries.
The five year MOU will have a hive of activities characterized by joint academic and research and innovation projects. “This will enable us to get the much needed support from our respective governments and even from international development partners and donors, when they see the good results emanating from our collaboration”, said Prof. Mwandemele.
