Master of Science in Transport and Logistics (NQF Level 9 )
Description of the Qualification
Masters of Science in Transport and Logistics Management prepares students for advanced work within the field of Transport and Logistics, both in the private and public sectors. The qualification aims to provide critical thinking and analytical skills to be able to analyze real world and theoretical problems, develop skills to design solutions for organizations. Furthermore, it aims to provide a strategic perspective of the relationships, flows, chains, processes, and systems comprising the international logistics and transport arena, with sustainability as a key issue.
The program targets corporate executives who aspire to serve the interest of society in the pursuit of Transport and Logistics excellence. Therfore, it is structured to stretch and challenge managers to fulfil their true potential and become defining players in organisational change management. This qualification also aims to train individuals who will contribute to the global economy and provide solutions for Namibia and the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) region in the Transport and Logistics sector as well as to complement the Government’s efforts in addressing Logistics and Transport issues affecting community members hence contributing towards the attainment of the National Vision 2030. The key stakeholders consulted included the Namibia University of Science and Technology, Ministry of Works and Transport, the National Planning Commission and the Confederation of Namibia Fishing Associations.
Admission / Entry Requirements
To be admitted into this qualification, a candidate must have completed a Bachelor Honours (NQF level 8) in Transport and Logistics related field from IUM or an equivalent accredited qualification from any other institution of higher learning, or a postgraduate diploma (NQF level 8) in Transport and Logistics Studies from IUM or an equivalent accredited qualification from any other institution of higher learning at NQF Level 8.

Important of all opportunities is research and consultancy.
