Who is this qualification for?

This qualification is designed to instil skills which are useful for successful human resource careers, creation of vibrant organisational relationship and serving industries in providing the necessary skills such as communication skills, problem solving skills, and human management skills in an organisation. The qualification is designed to teach the students the real life human resource tools required for employment and wealth creation in Namibia.

Students will gain experience and understanding of human resource functions in private and public-sector organisational environments. These functions embrace human resource planning; competency-based training, recruitment, selection, placement, and orientation of employees; training and career development; labour relations; management of performance appraisal, total rewards programs; and development of personnel policies and procedures.

Admission /Entry Requirements:

  • NSSC Ordinary/Advanced Subsidiary or equivalent with a minimum of 25 points in 5 subjects (including English Language minimum D symbol) on the IUM’s evaluation scale
  • A recognised qualification in Human resource management at NQF level 6 or equivalent.
  • Mature age entry for Human resource management (Level 7) provided that they:
  • Are 25 years old or over in the year in which admission is sought
  • Have at least 3 years’ experience
  • Must have a passed grade 10 Certificate

Qualification Duration:

Minimum: 3 Years – Maximum: 4 Years
