Bachelor of Science in Business Information Systems
Qualification Description:
The Bachelor of Science in Business Information Systems is designed in response to strong Information Communication Technology industry demand. It aims at giving students a thorough understanding of information technology tool and specialist knowledge in management, marketing or and accounting. It offers students the opportunity to develop a mixture of skills in the two complementary areas: Information Systems and Business/Management.
This degree is designed to make a positive and practical contribution to hardware and software design and to improve the management of performance and problem solving. It is concerned with the education and training of young information systems managers who can help to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of management in the private and public sectors. Upon completion, graduates would have acquired knowledge of computer systems and management that will enable them to analyse, design and implement information systems solutions in a wide range of real-world problems. Additionally, graduates will be able to recognize the multidisciplinary nature of information systems, be familiar with information system architecture and be able to evaluate effectiveness of information system in businesses.
Admission /Entry Requirements:
- NSSC Ordinary/Advanced Subsidiary or equivalent with a minimum of 25 points in 5 subjects (including English Language minimum D sand Mathematics D) on the IUM’s evaluation scale.
- A recognised qualification at NQF level 6 or equivalent mature age entry, provided that they:
- Are 25 years old or over in the year in which admission is sought
- Have at least 3 years’ experience
- Must have a passed grade 10 Certificate
