To be admitted to this qualification, a candidate must hold a recognized minimum qualification at NQF Level 8 and working as an educator at higher education institution such as a lecturer, trainer, tutor or instructor.

An undergraduate degree (NQF Level 7) qualification in un-related discipline deemed to be equivalent to a bachelor’s degree may also be considered for admission; provided that he/she has accumulated at least three (3) years working experience at management level or at worker’s representation level.

- Certificate in Tourism, Hospitality and Events Management at NQF Level 5 from IUM or any equivalent qualification at NQF Level 5 from an accredited and recognized institution.
Students may also enter through mature age provided that they:
- Are 25 years old or over in the year in which admission is sought
- Have at least 3 years’ relevant experience
- Must have a passed grade 10 Certificate
