About the Faculty
The Faculty of Strategic Management and Business Administration provides a number of courses that have great application to management in both corporate and government environment. The Faculty runs courses in finance, business management, human capital development, marketing, public policy and international relations and diplomacy, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, namely the Stand – Alone Certificate and Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma and Honours, Master’s and Doctoral degrees. The courses run under the Faculty are accredited by the Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA). Students graduating from these courses are equipped with skills in their respective study areas to manage and solve real world issues with confidence, nationally and globaly.

DEAN’S WELCOMING REMARKS
As the Dean of the Faculty of Strategic Management and Business Administration at The International University of Management (IUM), I take great pleasure in welcoming you to the Faculty. The Faculty of Strategic Management and Business Administration offers some of the top courses sought after in the labour market, which are essential in driving global economies.
These skills enable graduates to become job creators and own employers. The courses offered by the Faculty are of great use to both public institutions and the private sector. The courses on finance and business administration produce students who will become business leaders and managers that will lead their institutions to greater heights.
The huge variety of programs offered by the Faculty provide a wide range of choices to students. The Faculty takes pride in uniquely offering courses that few other institutions in the country offer, namely Public Policy Management and International Relations and Diplomacy. Further, the program on human capital development offers a wide range of skills in talent development, thereby contributing to the human capital skills development in the country.
Both public institutions and private entities in the country and regionally are encouraged to make use of the study opportunities offered by the Faculty for their own benefits.
Dr. Shihaleni E. Ndjaba

DEAN BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Shihaleni E. Ndjaba is the Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration at the International University of Management (IUM) since January 2021, having been with the University since 2019. Dr. Ndjaba accumulated a lot of business leadership experience, having served in various capacities at executive level, both in public and private sector, over a period of 30 years. In the public sector, Dr. Ndjaba served as Director in the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine resources from 1991 -1999, Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, 1999 – 2004 and Permanent Secretary (Executive Director) in the Ministry of Works, Transport and Communication 2004 – 2007.
His private sector engagement entails, among others, being the pioneering CEO of the Namibia Diamond Trading Company (NDTC), a joint venture between government and the globally renowned diamond leader, De Beers, for the period 2008 – 2019. This business leadership experience covers mastery of the entire diamond value chain, and he had the opportunity to visit and experience the major global centers of the diamond industry such as Surat in India, London, Gaborone, New York and others. Dr. Ndjaba’s business leadership saw the Namibian diamond industry developing into a vibrant diamond cutting and polishing center, supplying polished diamonds to global jewelry centers.
As part of the private sector leadership experience, Dr. Ndjaba also served as Acting CEO of the Agricultural Bank of Namibia (Agribank), during which period the bank transformed into a formidable financial institution, with a sound strategy and financial policies.
Dr. Ndjaba has earned himself a number of academic qualifications over the years. He holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from the Maastricht School of Management, the Netherlands, Master of Philosophy from the Maastricht School of Management, Master of Business in Administration (MBA) from the University of Brunel, UK, Master of Financial Economics, from the University of London, UK, Master of Science in General Maritime Administration, World Maritime University, Sweden, Executive Development Program (University of Stellenbosch, 2008), Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education (PGDHE) and a number of diplomas and certificates.
