DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implementing approved Human Resources policies, procedures and processes.
  • Implementing approved adjustments to the Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Implementing approved specific operational plans and objectives to ensure attainment of set results.
  • Promoting a performance culture through the implementation of set strategies and measures within the University.
  • Coordinating and conducting recruitment and selection interviews to ensure employment of suitable and competent staff within the University.
  • Implementing institution’s performance management system at university level including the development of organizational goal, organizational design, and business process and job design.
  • Implementing the institution’s industrial relations policies and procedures by advising university management on correct interpretation and consistent application.
  • Administering employee’s wellness programmes of the University.
  • Assisting with the preparation and submission of the Annual Affirmative Action Report.
  • Establishing Human Resources related database records and filing system at University level.
  • Administering the processing of employees remuneration and benefits at the university to ensure correct and timeous processing.
  • Ensure that all expatriates are in possession of valid work permits all the time.
  • Maintaining records of all the institution’s policies and procedures at the University.
  • Providing technical human resources management support to university management in respect of application of general human resources practices.
  • Consult with line management and provide daily HR guidance.
  • Perform other related duties as directed from time to time by management.

APPOINTMENT REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS

  • B-degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent qualification
  • Three (3) years’ work experience in HR administration.
  • Must be computer literate Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).

1 X student counsellor

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide professional counselling service to students to ensure the emotional and professional growth of students.
  • Counsel prospective students on the admissions process and opportunities at the university.
  • One-on-one counselling to diverse populations of students.
  • Provide referral services such as mental health or substance abuse.
  • Assist with conflict mediation and resolution between students, parents, lecturers to ensure student studies are not disrupted.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of on-campus events and programmes for counselling groups and individuals.
  • Maintaining and disseminating information about counselling services to students.
  • Making informational presentations to stakeholders.
  • Develops tools to assess individual improvement in behavior during counselling.
  • Lecture/mentor students in assigned class.
  • Monitor activities of assigned students and complete final evaluations.
  • Monitor and provide material support to individual students.
  • Advice management in the planning for support of transfer of learning in and around the working environment.
  • Provide a positive, enthusiastic appearance and be a role model for all students.
  • Perform any other related duties as shall be determined from time to time by management.

 

APPOINTMENT REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS

  • A recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Counselling or Psychology or equivalent.
  • A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
  • The incumbent must have excellent analytical skills; excellent listening and communication skills; good interpersonal skills with high level of emotional intelligence, and be willing to work under pressure to meet deadlines whenever necessary.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in the field of counselling with good knowledge of counselling principles, techniques and practices.
  • Should be computer literate.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Should be able to teach History and Geography for Secondary Phase and Social Studies for Senior Primary Phase.
  • Should be able to teach other core educational courses.
  • Perform teaching duties; supervision of students’ research projects; engage in research and publication activities and engage in community development activities as per IUM policy
  • The candidate should be able to apply ICT skills in teaching and learning.

APPOINTMENT REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS

  • Master of Education and should have an undergraduate qualification with specialisation in History and Geography Education for Secondary Phase.
  • With at least five years (5) teaching experience in the above subject or three (3) years lecturing experience.
  • A relevant PhD in Education degree will serve as an added advantage.
  • Must be computer literate
